Thank you for all the love on the last article. Always so moved to hear that another person, half way across the world knows exactly what it’s like to try again. And that when we share our stories, portals for life open up.
I’m here to share that it’s finally time for the soft opening of The Teahouse and a little revelation on forgiveness. I have a wide smile on my face & a few tears in my eyes as I type this. I saw a quote shared by Jezz Chung this week on Instagram that read:
“ART IS ITERATION, ITERATION UNTIL SOMATIC CONFIRMATION.”
Kind of blew my mind because that is exactly what art is. An artist is someone who continues to open up pathways to confirm that what they envision, see, taste, feel, hear, and perceive can indeed be embodied. Grounded into physical form.
As I reflect on all of the past iterations of The Teahouse, I can simultaneously feel all the iterations of me who was ideating despite the fear. Holding the pose anyway. I think as artists we will always carry a tinge of fear. For me, it’s a tool I use to distill & sort the gems from the rocks. I don’t try to rid myself of it, just stay open to how I can better befriend it. What I am unfamiliar with I can not create from.
Every step of building this space, especially as a 3rd line, has been met with obstacles & challenges, even if a few of those were self induced. We really can’t begin to understand the exact depth & vastness of our resilience. The sheer volume of imaginative power that one cell of our bodies holds. The calming clarity we have access to & the playfulness that’s waiting to carry us there.
If I’m being honest, I created The Teahouse for myself. I wanted a place I could go to be with myself, all versions. Past present & future. I was craving a place to learn more about myself so that I could care for my energy first. I wanted it to be filled with voices I trusted to expose me to just the right amount of tension I need to grow.
I wanted it to be beautiful in every way. I wanted it to grant me spaciousness. To drop in during the seasons of busyness & commit during seasons of stillness. I couldn’t find it, so I created it…an oasis for whole Self awareness.
I’m often asked how I create the things I do & move in a way that always respects my energy. This time around, I don’t think I could have created this without the gift that forgiveness granted me. It descended upon me when I least expected it. Although, I did have a very intuitive astrologer tell me in the summer of 2021 that I would soon be entering a long journey to heal my ‘Mother wound.’ And that through that healing journey I would unlock the Plutonian power buried within me.
Forgiveness gave me foundation. It gave me peace. But mostly it gave me the food I needed to release all the creative energy that had been sitting dormant & stagnant all these years. I always thought that forgiveness was something you had to do. Now I know it’s something that gets done to you.
*deep sigh*
