Entrepreneurship as a Spiritual Path

Firstly, I want to say that Life is the deepest spiritual path available to us.

From this ocean of Life, Streams are created.

Multiple pathways, living breathing opportunities to add more layers & experiences to our existence. One of my chosen ones is Entrepreneurship.

I’m sure you’ve noticed, our World is changing. What we care about, what we want & what we want to leave behind. Every industry is going through a change. A mass mutation on a global scale. Sometimes it feels like the needle isn’t moving, but I assure you it is.

When the questions start changing, that’s how you know the solutions will soon follow.

This newsletter journal first began as ‘The Aquarian Entrepreneur’ because I’ve always believed that it was the entrepreneur that was going to anchor us into the Aquarian age. It’s us who would redefine what it meant to be humanitarians. It’s us that would ignite revolutionary rebirth, — not by how much we could work or do, but by how unrestricted we could express ourselves.

This way will have to be rooted in a new experiment altogether. Something we haven’t tried before, that hasn’t been taught & most likely has been seen yet. Truth is, no one knows what the future of Entrepreneurship will hold because we’re building it now. We’re living in the presence of evolution. Everyone is adding their piece. I’d like to share my contribution. The 3 most essential things I’ve found so far:

KNOWLEDGE to understand your calling.
ENERGY to sustain the direction.
TIME to master your talent.

*deep sigh*

When I made the choice to say yes to my entrepreneurial journey as my Spiritual path, it was as if I was taking off a really tight shoe I’d been running in for years.

For years I suffered. Chasing the dangling carrot of finally having a ‘successful business’. That when this happened, I could rest. But this isn’t how Aquarian Entrepreneurship works. Rest isn’t the reward, it’s the requirement, and entrepreneurship at this level will ask more of you.

It wants all of you. Not in a way that you’re working 24/7 but in a way that your mind, heart & soul are the offerings on the altar of devotion. That your business, offers, office, message, mission, emails, bank account, relationships, and revolution become a conduit for Spirit to pour through.

And really, you can’t get it wrong.

What else are we here for anyway? Even if it takes us the next 100 years for this to be universalized knowing, it’s okay because when Truth is involved, time doesn’t matter.

A reminder that not every person is called to this path. Infinite more exist. Author as a Spiritual Path. Parenting as a Spiritual Path. Gardener as a Spiritual Path. House cleaner as a Spiritual Path. Illumination is available everywhere & the steps are the same—

KNOWLEDGE to understand your calling.
1. Where are you being called? What do you need to know about this place?
ENERGY to sustain the direction.
1. How does your energy work? Do you know your pace?
TIME to master your talent.
1. You are Divine timing, don’t fight against it. Instead, focus on creating space, widening your capacity. Be open to seasons & cycles.

THINGS TO KNOW before you say YES to this PATH:

Obstacles are not the same as resistance. Richard Rudd says “Obstacles test your faith, commitment & surrender while resistance wears you down.” Obstacles will have it that you try again.
True surrender to yourself & the path opens you up to understanding yourself and your power as God. How your talent becomes masterful, forged on the anvil of time. Strengthened, you eventually become a clear conduit for Creation. True surrender is one of the biggest miracles we can experience.
You don’t really know what you want. A lot of what I used to ask for was based on the identity I constructed to be loved, liked, safe & accepted. The more I plugged into The Cloud aka Universal Consciousness, my desires changed. In truth, my vision changed so my business had to change. I could no longer create, sell, connect even handle money the same way.
Empathy and compassion are the foundation not only for human connection but for all Life on Earth. This is where power lies. Similar to nature, we were created with intelligent empathy. The kind that can sense when things are inharmonious- we’ve just been conditioned to bypass it.
Fear is a result of being too far away from your vision. When I’m rubbed up, close as shells on a shore to my calling, any fear is replaced with clarity & courage. This is actually a deeper lesson on Love. When we are close to Love, it casts a veil of protection but it is me who leaves. It is me who can’t rest in Love. It is me who wants to see what others are doing and it is me who winds up sinking in the quicksand of comparison, worry & doubt. By rooting into this Spiritual Path, it’s not to say that I no longer perceive fear but when I’m loving on my vision, fear recedes to the background.
The ‘Entrepreneurial Spirit’ is real. Entrepreneurship is a Spirit. It’s a spirit of play, imagination, and wonder. A spirit of expansion, understanding & genius. A spirit of balance, creation & in its essence, love. We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t love creation with boundlessness. Willingly spend sleepless nights ideating, organizing & planning. When did this Spirit become weaponized? Big multinational companies feasting on smaller ones. Entrepreneurs selling their souls for a few dollars. Lack of connection & thriving networks supporting one another. Agencies designed to upkeep standards turned into a cool kids clubs. All of this needed to happen. Our desire for something new couldn’t exist without contrast.
Money Period. At some point, you realize how dualistic money is. How important & unimportant money is. Actually, you realize you’re the same one that sustains the power money has in the first place. An inanimate object that rules our world. I really used to war with this one. Making up all types of stories around what money was & what it meant about me. The great thing about stories is that they can be rewritten. Money isn’t moral. It can enter through any vacant channel. Like water, it takes the shape of the form it touches. Sometimes even amplifying that form’s reach. Money for me is now, is Divine Currency. And through this realization, I’ve created a running list of other types of currencies we trade, borrow & gift daily. Money is air. It comes and goes. It gets stagnant and breeds mold. When in flow, it has the ability to proliferate beyond anything we’ve ever seen. Money is an ally on this Path, we will need it for the road ahead, befriend it.
Being seen is not the same as being exposed. As someone with a South Node in Leo 12th house, I know a thing or two about staying hidden out of fear. We hide because we fear judgment & worse, rejection. But as I said in #4, when fear shows up, we aren’t close enough to the vision, to the purpose we’ve been called for. We’re trying to protect ourselves & I get this, but guarding our hearts isn’t how we’ll root into the future of entrepreneurship. I’m still learning to keep my heart open and hasn’t let me down yet. In fact, it’s opened up more opportunities for connection, collaboration & support. Building with an open heart can be looked at as a risk, but entrepreneurship has always been framed as taking large risks. When you trust yourself radically despite what your mind or past versions of self say- there's no risk because there's no other way to be. Entrepreneurship becomes the safest option.
Art, Beauty & Play aren’t frivolous. The opposite, they are the golden soil upon which your mission, message, business & legacy will be sowed in.
1. STORYTIME: In my senior year of high school, I took ceramics as a filler class. I already knew where I was going, a varsity basketball player, and scholarship offers from many schools. In my final semester, my ceramic art teacher, an angel incarnate, shifted the course of my life. She poured Love into me. Celebrated my hidden passion for art and specifically ceramics. She secretly spoke to professors at an Art University in my state and was bent on getting me in. With a sheepish voice, I went to my parents to let them know I wanted to pursue art. They cursed to the Gods and the final answer was no, with little room for negotiation. The deal was that after my first degree in something that didn’t result in me ‘begging on the streets’, I could be frivolous and spend time on art. I took the deal. Four years later they held up their side and I flew off to Fashion School in London for my Masters. It was the most impactful year of my life. But when I got back, I couldn’t get a job. Everything they warned me about came true. I was back at home, in the basement. That year, my mom offered to fund my first entrepreneurial venture so naturally, I cast art to the side. It took me 10 years later to forgive myself, to embrace my art & to realize that like other forms of art, entrepreneurs are artists & business is our gallery.
Everything is Spiritual. There is nothing in existence that Spirit, God, Universe, Earth, Moon, Cosmos, Breath, whatever you want to call it, does not touch. Nothing in existence that it does not own. Nothing in existence that it has not created, even in its formless state of ideas and inspiration. Which literally means, “breathing Spirit into” or “filled with the breath of Spirit”. We can choose to be oblivious, naive, or not believe. What I know is that our lack of belief does not make something nonexistent, it can only make it non perceivable until acknowledged. So now, I’d rather flow with the Stream than against it.

We have a full July at The Teahouse & I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’ll be learning about the foundations of Human Design for Business, BG5. The version of Human Design Ra created specifically for business owners & I believe for the future of Entrepreneurship. Then dropping into somatic practices to care for the body & communal conversations to expand our perspectives.

This is just the beginning…
