A few days ago we got together on Instagram Live to talk about creating anxiety-free content that actually sells.
What inspired this talk was having back-to-back Founder business sessions with entrepreneurs who were trying to figure out how to distill their big ideas into bite sized messages that people would easily receive.
I get that.
As someone who thinks in big picture all day, filtering down big philosophical ideas into content that can be easily understood or at the least digested is definitely anxiety inducing.
(It’s no coincidence they both had their South node in the 9th house & North node in the 3rd house, all about quick thinking, easy to assimilate ideas.)
They inspired me to whip out some things I learned in college. I studied Advertising Art Direction and swore I would one day become a Creative Director, that career is still loading.
One of the things they taught us was advertising to make a sale.
Of course those methods hadn’t been updated since like the beginning of Coca Cola and yet this is what we were told to do, even when I went on to work at one of the biggest Ad Agencies in the world!
Well if big businesses don’t start learning the process of mitigating manipulation in their sales, they’ll be forced to because times are changing.
Customers are smart, they’ve always been and they definitely don’t want to feel like all they are, are dollar signs.
I was excited when this came up in session & decided to share what I had refined. I retranslated a pretty archaic model into a hopefully simple process that you can start using right now.
The Ladder of Awareness breaks down content creation, advertising & sales to serve a specific function so you don’t feel like nothing is happening when you’re not getting the engagement you’d like.
It’s definitely still working. Engagement doesn’t always equate to sales.
As new era creators, every piece of content we make is a highly valuable digital asset. I learned this the hard way. Please don’t delete your assets- leverage them!
These assets have the ability to articulate your intellectual property (a.k.a sell for you) on a subject or topic you’ve developed over time. This means you can reach people even when you’re resting.
The thing is, I’m order to do this efficiently, you have to make content with varying levels of depth, with each one adding to the overall vision of your marketing.
